Criminal Investigation Division
Lt. Frank Brinkley
CID Supervisor/Threat Assessment
The Criminal Investigation Division is made up of two sections; the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Intelligence Unit (Threat Assessment Team).
The Criminal Investigations Unit is responsible for handling investigations that require special expertise, or because of their complexity, length or location, are unable to be completed by the Patrol Officer taking the initial report.
The unit also assists the Patrol Division with their investigations as needed. The Criminal Investigations Unit also coordinates with other departments within the NC State University community, along with other law enforcement agencies to find solutions to issues.
The Intelligence Section (Threat Assessment Team) works with members of our community, and other law enforcement agencies to develop information on issues that may impact the community such as; dignitary visits, demonstrations, and behavioral assessments by gathering information. They also assist the Criminal Investigations Unit with their investigations.
Members of the Intelligence Section (Threat Assessment Team) are also members of the NC State University Behavior Assessment Team.
