The Operations Lieutenant reports to the Support Services Major and is responsible for the supervision of the Crime Prevention and Hiring & Recruitment Sections. The Operations Lieutenant has responsibilities for the following matters; management of staff inspections; accountability of university keys and access fobs; record retention, storage, and destruction by confidential shredding of outdated records pursuant to record retention schedules; administrative investigations as assigned by the Chief of Police; department liaison to the University GBLT Center; administration of employees on light duty assignments; the Citizen’s Police Academy; employee workload assessments and monthly reporting of operations activities of Crime Prevention and the Hiring & Recruitment Section.
