Criminal Investigation

Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is the most highly visible division of the NC State University Police Department and has the responsibility to pro-actively patrol the campus in a effort to prevent crime, solve problems, investigate crimes and accidents, make arrests pursuant to criminal behavior, provide safety escorts, serve as building liaisons, conduct safety programs and building partnerships within the campus and local community. Support Services
The Support Services Division reports to the Support Services Commander and contains the administrative and support functions of the NC State Police Department and also contains specialized law enforcement units. Read more on support services
Crime Prevention
The primary purpose of the Crime Prevention Division is to act as a liaison between the Police Department and the campus community. Officers provide education outside the classroom to help prevent students, faculty, staff, and visitors from becoming victims of criminal activity. Read more about the Crime Prevention Division
Emergency Communication Center
The NCSU Police Department is equipped with a 24 hour Emergency Communications Center with trained and certified Emergency Communications Officers that answer both 9-1-1 phone lines and non-emergency administrative phone lines. Read about the Emergency Communication Center
Career Development
The Career Development Office is the primary recruiter for the University Police Department and works closely with the University's Human Resources Staff to coordinate the Department's recruitment activities. Read more on career development
Special Events
The Special Events mission is to support the university community during pre-planned events. Events may range from a fraternity evening event with a few hundred in attendance to an NCSU Football game with several thousands in attendance. Read more on special events
